Both charts make sense. Political pressures push other countries to over provide to the healthy and under prove to the sick. Seeing a primary care physician is easier abroad. Getting serious care is more difficult.

Aaron’s colleague, Steve Pizer, coauthored a study of the VA Health System showing that waiting has a negative impact on mortality.
