Just a quick sing-out to Marilyn Mann because of the latest news released over the weekend that the anti-smoking drug Chantix by Pfizer may be unsafe. The new evidence comes from a meta-analysis of 14 prior studies. Mann, writing as PM on this site, as early as May 2008 noted safety signals with the drug. She now has her own blog.

The question for today is how long will it take the Food and Drug Administration to take additional action beyond the mild warning offered last month? It seems to me the agency should quickly call its Drug Safety Advisory Committee into session to review the data.
