With the surge in dental services, why should patients opt for the most effective procedure? The good news is anyone who chooses an All-On-4 dental implant can go wrong with the trusted treatment. During this procedure, the doctor in charge will insert a small screw made of titanium into the jawbone for a restored set of teeth.

After the procedure, a key focus is usually emphasized on full recovery. The technique differs from traditional dentures, with a longer recovery time of three to eight months.

Patients usually don’t have to worry about how long an All-On-Four denture will take. The reason is that dental implants fuse to your bone and promote the strength of the new teeth. But then again, paying attention to your full recovery after the surgery is rewarding and recommendable.

Promoting Faster Recovery after All-On-4 Dental Surgery

All-on-four dental implant recovery time is significantly less than the standard implant time. The procedure typically takes up to four days to recover. Here are some tips to ensure a fast and smooth healing process:

First 24 Hours

The first day after dental implant surgery is important because it’s the window where the patient is most likely at risk of getting an infection. A well-trained, experienced, and competent dentist will give detailed instructions on how to care for your new teeth. General care instructions will include the following:

1.             Caring for Your Mouth

Patients tend to experience tenderness and soreness following surgery, so to properly care for the newly operated area, Keep several things in mind:

  • Don’t touch or disturb the affected area.
  • Use an ice pack to reduce swelling and pain.
  • Keep the mouth clean to prevent any bacteria or germs.
  • Use warm salt water to rinse.

2.             Consuming Food and Drinks

After removing the gauze sponges, patients are highly recommended to consume soft food. Avoid drinking from straws or consuming hot beverages. The nutritional value is imperative, so doctors highly suggest sticking to a balanced diet and refraining from any food that can damage the implants.

3.             Taking Medication

The doctor will recommend specific medication to deal with swelling, tenderness, nausea, or dizziness. Anti-inflammatory drugs will work, but in some cases, the surgeon will need to prescribe a different medication, depending on the severity of the procedure.

4.             Avoid Strenuous Work

Making sure that the anesthetic has worn off is the first step before allowing patients to return home. It’s highly recommended to wait 24 to 48 hours before pursuing any strenuous activity.

48-72 Hours

Maintaining a balanced diet of firmer foods is recommended, especially when the patient isn’t feeling any pain or discomfort. Doctors always emphasize the importance of a dental oral care routine since ensuring the mouth is in top-notch condition can expedite the healing process of the jaws and gums.

Three Days after Implant Dental Surgery

If the patient does feel comfortable working and the jaws have fully healed, they can return to their regular daily routine. However, it’s still highly recommended to avoid any habits that can compromise the recovery of the jaws and gums.

Doctors express the need for extra precaution during the third day of recovery since the chances of making a full recovery are nearer and engaging in habits that could potentially hinder the progress might result in issues that compromise the health and strength of the supporting jawbones.

End of the Journey

While looking forward to a faster all-on-four dental implant recovery, follow the dentist’s instructions and recommendations diligently. The pace of recovery varies from patient to patient, so patients shouldn’t worry if they have an underlying health condition slowing the recovery pace. The dentist will guide you through the recovery process for better results.

Wrapping Up

If, among many people who dread getting dental implants, worry no more. In addition, if you find the recovery process intimidating and taxing, don’t give up. Opt for an all-on-4 dental implant procedure because it’s the most practical solution, and recovery is about three days.

Work with a reputable and experienced dentist near you. You’ll rest assured of faster treatment and recovery time, improve your quality of life, and boost your appearance and confidence. Then you can take it easy, manage the side effects, and follow your dentist’s instructions.
