We all want a healthier diet, and that is why we should eat more tropical fruits. Not only are they delicious, making dried fruits an excellent stand-in for candy, but if you eat an array of fruits that encompass all the colors of the rainbow, you are guaranteed to get all the vitamins and minerals your body needs to be at its healthiest. We also included some recipes for you to try, making this an easy way to get healthier.

Pineapple

These spiny fruits are not only delicious, they are just packed with all the vitamins and nutrients that you need. Pineapples can help your bones grow big and strong, making them excellent for the youth, but can also boost your immune system, making them the perfect treat for the elderly. Pineapples aid in digestion as well, making them perfect for just about any time in your life. Savor the fresh, sweet taste of this tropical fruit on a warm summer’s day with this lovely tea concoction using pineapple syrup.

– 2 cups freshly brewed tea

– ice

Mix all ingredients well in a pitcher. Serve over ice in a tall glass.

Asian Pear

Asian pears are not pear-shaped and have a very sweet taste, unlike other pears. However, one thing it is important to note is that a good, healthy morning routine often starts with tropical fruit for breakfast to help you start your day off right. Serve this light, bright, sparkling Asian pear to guests on a warm evening and you can almost see the health benefits of the Asian pear start to work their magic.

Asian Pear Sparkler

– 1 cup freshly pressed Asian pear juice

– 1 teaspoon lemon juice

– 3/4 cup honey

– 1/4 cup sugar

– 1 (4-inch) sprig fresh rosemary

– 1 (1-inch) piece fresh ginger, peeled and cut into coins

– Small grating of fresh nutmeg

– Ice

– Soda water

Make a syrup by stirring all ingredients, other than ice and soda water, over low heat for five minutes. Mix with soda water and serve over ice.

Mango

In addition to being a beautiful, bright color, these fruits have a ton of benefits to bring a smile to your face. While you chomp on mangoes, you may be paying attention to their sharp, sweet taste, but did you know that they can also promote good digestion and help to cleanse your bowels? As well as promoting gut health, a mango can boost your immune system. For an easy dessert, roast mangoes and serve with ice cream. A delicious treat that’s secretly healthy.

Roasted Mangoes

– 2 whole mangoes

– 2 scoops vanilla ice cream

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cut mangoes in half and place on a baking sheet, cut side up. Bake for 20 minutes, serve with a scoop of ice cream.

Papaya

If you have any sort of health concerns, it is likely that your doctor has already suggested that you consume papaya. It’s not only delicious but has a ton of health benefits for you. They can help those with cardiac problems, as well as those with skin discomfort. A popular folk treatment is using mashed papaya on the skin to soften it. Have this drink warmed up on a frosty day to get a bit of cheer.

Spiced Papaya Rum

– 1 cup fresh pressed papaya juice

– 6 oz. light rum

– 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg, cinnamon, and cloves

Mix all ingredients in a small saucepan over low heat. Stir five minutes, or until heated through. Serve in a mug, garnished with a cinnamon stick.

Passionfruit

These little fruits are like bundles of delicious antioxidants and nutritious vitamins and minerals in an orange flesh with crunchy (also nutritious) black seeds. Some fruits, like the papaya, have seeds that are numerous, but not good for eating. Not so the passionfruit, where the seeds are a huge factor in the delicious nature of this fruit. Make a fruit punch featuring passionfruit and serve it centerstage at barbecues and other summertime get-togethers.

Passionfruit Punch

– 2 cups fresh pressed passionfruit juice

– 2 cups pineapple juice

– 1 liter lemon-lime soda

Mix all ingredients together, serve over ice with chunks of pineapple to garnish.

Now that you know how healthy tropical fruits are, you can start eating them on a regular basis. You can make more things than just drinks with them. Experiment and see what works for you.
