A cup of coffee is a morning staple for many people. There are even some healthy benefits. However, too much coffee can cause some health issues.

But if you want to cut down on drinking coffee, either because you want a healthier alternative or simply want to become less dependent on caffeine to get you going in the morning, the good news is that there are lots of healthier alternatives to consider. Instead of coffee, these perfect morning drinks will still give you a kick of energy to get your day started. Kombucha

Kombucha is a tea that’s very trendy right now in the health and fitness industry. Lots of fitness influencers swear by Kombucha as a great alternative to getting them going in the morning and making sure that their day gets off to the best start. But despite the new boom in people drinking Kombucha, the tea is certainly not new on the scene – it actually originated in China over two thousand years ago. While this fermented, sparkling drink is certainly different from a latte in the morning, more and more people are switching over due to the health benefits. Water

Plain water is often the best drink to have first thing in the morning. Whether you decide to have a cup of coffee or an herbal tea afterwards is up to you, but putting some water into your body after you’re dehydrated from sleeping will immediately make you feel more awake and focused. If you’re happy to continue getting a caffeine kick in the morning but want a healthier option than coffee, matcha green tea could be an ideal choice for you. Matcha green tea only contains around a fifth of the caffeine that you’d find in a standard cup of coffee, but it’s definitely enough to give you the energy boost you need. This tea comes in a fine powder made from the entire green tea leaf stone, which is dissolved into water. You can add milk too, if you like.

Fruity Herbal Tea

If you want a drink that wakes you up and refreshes you first thing in the morning, there are lots of fruity herbal teas to consider. Lemon and ginger tea is a great, soothing option if you have woken up with a dry mouth or throat, and the ginger infusion will help you get your morning off to an energized start. You can find lots of different fruity tea options that include green tea if you want a healthier caffeine kick in the morning.

Green Smoothies

A green smoothie can be a great drink for first thing in the morning, getting your day off to a great start with lots of antioxidants and vitamins. You can make a green smoothie with fruits and vegetables along with apple juice, water, or plant milk. For an extra boost of energy, mix some superfood powders into your smoothie.

If you’re looking for a healthier alternative to drink instead of coffee in the morning, these options can be better for your health while still providing the energy you need to start your day.
