If you have been addicted to drugs and are starting your journey to a sober life, looking for a drug rehab center is crucial. Rehab centers are plentiful in the USA. Data from Statista shows that there were around 16,066 drug rehab facilities in the USA in 2020. With so many options available, how will you choose the right treatment center?

There are many factors to consider when choosing a treatment center for addiction. If you’re looking for help with drug or alcohol abuse, it’s important to find the best rehab center possible. Here are some things you should consider when making your decision.

Go for an Affordable Rehab Center

Once you’ve decided that you’re ready to seek treatment, it’s essential to consider the cost. Many people have limited financial resources and might be unable to afford the care they need. Fortunately, some rehab centers are more affordable than others and can provide quality treatment at a fraction of the cost of other facilities.

Costs vary greatly depending on your center, the type of treatment you receive, and any additional services that may be required during recovery. According to National Center for Drug Abuse Statistics data, the average cost of drug rehab is over $13,000 per person.

How Can Technology Play a Role in Addiction Treatment?

Some centers offer payment plans or allow patients to sign up for Medicaid or Medicare coverage during their stay in rehab. Other centers may accept private insurance policies from various companies. However, not all insurance companies will cover addiction treatment costs under their policies because there is no definitive diagnosis code for drug abuse disorder yet recognized by these programs.

Does the Rehab Center Accept Your Insurance?

If you have health insurance, it’s important that the rehab center accepts your coverage. Some facilities will bill insurers directly and accept whatever payment they receive, while others will require patients to pay out of pocket before submitting a claim. If you’re unsure whether a rehab center accepts your insurance, check with them directly or call your insurer to get more information.

If you don’t have health insurance or if your deductible is high, an out-of-network facility may be able to help with payment arrangements or offer other options for paying for treatment costs. You should look for rehab centers that accept your insurance.

For instance, Anthem insurance is a popular insurance plan offered by the largest for-profit healthcare company, the Blue Cross Blue Shield Association. If you have this insurance, you must look for rehabs that take Anthem insurance. In fact, finding such rehabs should be a part of one of the first steps you take while researching a substance abuse rehab center.

Not All Treatment Centers Are Accredited or Licensed to Practice

Accreditation is a way to measure the quality of a rehab center. It’s important because it can tell you whether or not your rehab will meet your needs and help you recover from addiction. Accreditation consists of standards that state what should be done at the facility, such as providing medical care, counseling services, and aftercare programs beyond inpatient treatment.

Licensing ensures that a rehab center follows the rules set by the state government about how they operate their business and treat their patients. Some states have stricter standards than others regarding accreditation and licensing requirements for treatment centers. This means that some facilities may meet certain criteria but still be unable to give adequate care for all patients with substance use disorders.

It’s Important to Consider the Success Rate of a Treatment Center Before Enrolling

You should think about the success rate of a treatment center before enrolling. It’s not always the same at every rehab center, but it’s good to know what you can expect as far as how many people complete the program and stay sober afterward.

According to the American Addiction Centers organization, only 42% of individuals entering rehab programs complete them. If the rehab’s success rate is higher than that, there are good chances of recovery.

Knowing that most patients have successful outcomes can be reassuring if you’re nervous about leaving your loved one in the hands of strangers. In addition, if someone you know has completed another treatment program with positive results, ask them about their experience to get an idea of what it was like for them there.

Detox Should Be Part of the Equation

When looking for a rehab center, you should know that detox is an integral part of recovery. When a person becomes addicted to drugs or alcohol, their body adapts by producing more dopamine receptors to compensate for the depletion caused by repeated drug use.

This means that when you finally stop using drugs or alcohol after years of abuse, your body has become accustomed to having higher dopamine levels than it should naturally produce.

Dopamine is responsible for feelings of pleasure and satisfaction. It’s released when people eat food or have sex, for example. And it plays a vital role in your ability to feel happy and motivated about life activities like working out at the gym or going on vacation with family members.

Without enough dopamine flowing through your brain, you can experience depression-like symptoms such as lackadaisicalness and lack of motivation.

A Good Treatment Center Will Offer Aftercare Options

Aftercare is a critical part of recovery. Aftercare options include outpatient treatment, sober living, long-term care, and support groups. You may also have the option to sign up for group therapy sessions or individual counseling sessions at your local rehab center.

Aftercare is crucial because it helps you stay sober and avoid relapse after you complete your initial treatment program. According to an article published on the Very Well Mind website, aftercare involves developing a continuing care plan that helps reduce relapse rates. Hence, it is as important as the treatment taken in the center.

Aftercare can also help you learn about addiction and continue to grow as an individual in recovery by providing continued counseling services and educational resources on addiction. Lastly, aftercare can help integrate you back into society by connecting you with other people who are also in recovery so that they will be there when things get tough during your road to sobriety.

Conclusion

This list might not be exhaustive, but it will help you find the best rehab center. As mentioned above, there are many different treatment centers, each with a unique set of pros and cons. The only way to know if a particular facility is suitable for you is by researching and talking with people who have been through similar experiences before, directly or indirectly, through their family or friends.
