In addition to providing long-term treatment for young patients, pediatric nurses also help families develop and maintain healthy living lifestyle choices. Some of their specific duties include:
- Administering and prescribing medication
- Conducting physicals
- Giving immunizations
- Diagnosing illnesses
- Placing intravenous lines on patients
