People have always wanted to know the secret of eternal youth. We associate youth with being healthy and sexually attractive. But the aging process is natural and irreversible. As we grow older, our skin becomes rougher, transparent and more fragile; it loses elastin (the elastic tissue) and hangs loosely. Genetics play a crucial role in skin aging. However, there are a lot of other factors that influence your skin including your diet, levels of stress, sleep position, and daily facial movement. There are ways to keep your skin young and healthy. You need to wash your face daily, stick to a healthy diet, and break bad habits. In addition, you can use natural anti-aging ingredients such as Crepe Erase, coffee oils, pomegranate, Vitamin E, and Vitamin C. Learn more about other factors in order to reduce premature skin aging. Sunlight What can be better than taking a sunbath on the beach? Unfortunately, exposure to sunlight causes premature wrinkles. Even though the sun is the best source of Vitamin D, its ultraviolet light damages elastin (the certain skin fiber). In most cases, people see signs of sun damage on their skin after they turn 40. Most researchers agree that it is never too late to protect yourself from sun exposure. All you need to do is to make habits of using sunscreen and covering your face when it is hot outside. Also, avoid sitting next to the window in your workplace. According to the research, repeated ultraviolet-A through a glass window leads to skin hydration, heterogeneity, and roughness. An interesting fact is that people with dark skin are less susceptible to sun-induced damage. Bad habits Researchers at the Department of Plastic Surgery studied the physical differences between people who smoked and their twins who didn’t have nicotine dependence. It proved that smoking makes people look older. For instance, smokers who participated in the research had more wrinkles around their lips and under the eyes. The same applies to alcohol drinking. The study proved that excessive drinking dehydrates skin and leads to dryness and wrinkles. According to the research published by the Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health, alcoholics are more likely to have grey rings around the corners of their eyes. It is considered an old age syndrome that doesn’t usually occur until the age of 65. Studies show that even one night of heavy drinking can be enough to damage your skin. That’s why you need to drink plenty of water at the party. Also, avoid skin care products that contain alcohol. The poor nutrition There is a saying that you are what you eat. If you want to keep your skin healthy, you need to make better food choices. People who suffer from eating disorders are more likely to develop dry skin and wrinkles. The list of anti-aging foods includes red bell pepper, papaya, blueberries, broccoli, avocado, spinach, and nuts. Avoid foods high in sugar, processed carbohydrates (such as bread, pasta, and baked goods), and caffeine. Your beauty comes from the inside, so try to stick to a healthy diet. It doesn’t mean you should eat only vegetables and fruits, and continuously lose weight. Frequent weight gain or and loss can lead to the development of stretch marks. Too little sleep If your last night is written on your face, it means you did something wrong. Partying all night long makes your skin dehydrated. Also, it leads to the development of dark circles since your blood vessels dilate when you don’t get enough sleep. If you want to avoid dry skin and under-eye bags, sleep on your back. Too much stress Psychologists say that stress is an essential reaction for survival and development. From another side, too much stress can negatively affect your health. According to the latest study conducted by the University of California, San Francisco, chronic stress can contribute to skin aging. It causes a chemical response that makes your skin reactive and more sensitive; it also leads to other skin problems. Chronic stress triggers the release of the stress hormone called cortisol. In turn, this hormone makes your skin more oily and aggravates acne and other problems including eczema, psoriasis, and rosacea. If you are stressed, and you see that your skin looks worse than usual, try to: -Keep yourself active -Sleep well -Remove makeup before going to sleep Sleeping with makeup on Sometimes you just want to go to sleep after a long working day or the all-night party. No matter how dead you are, you should still remove your makeup before going to bed. According to the research conducted by a certified dermatologist Brooke A. Jackson, having makeup on your face during the night can influence the whole skin repair process. As you can understand, it is something that you should never forget about. Not removing your make up at least once might still lead to aging skin, irritations and allergic reactions. Conclusion There are many ways to slow or help prevent the aging of skin. These facts will keep you looking younger and healthier for longer.
