Some patient medical records may have also been altered with AI. This is a huge problem for a variety of reasons. Records modified with AI may omit details about patient allergies, fail to accurately account for medical diagnoses or suggest patients are in need of the wrong procedures. 

This is one of the most important reasons that healthcare professionals need to use AI detectors. They can authenticate medical records more easily, so patients get the right care.

Credential fraud is sadly a lot more common in the healthcare industry than most people think. One major nursing news site reported a scandal where 7,600 fake nursing diplomas were discovered as part of a credential scheme. Many of these people were able to use their fake diplomas to take nursing boards and get licensed to become nurses. 

These types of problems are going to become more common as people can start using AI to fabricate credentials to get jobs in healthcare. The ramifications for this can obviously be terrifying. 

AI detectors can help healthcare providers verify that the credentials were not made with AI. This can help them make sure only qualified professionals get hired.
