In China, a child with congenital heart disease is born every three minutes. Since operations on small babies are particularly difficult, Professor Hu Shengshou from Fu Wai Hospital in Bejing has a new approach: He combines traditional cardiovascular surgery and interventional therapeutics in one procedure.
