The mHealth Summit starts in Washington DC on Monday, Dec 5th and runs through Wednesday, Dec 7th .  I will be attending the conference on Tuesday and so I am currently gathering information on speakers, exhibits, etc.  An overview of the summit states that it will bring a “dedicated focus to the business, end-user, and policy perspectives of mHealth, fostering in-depth dialogue to identify and accelerate cross-cutting value chains and sustainable mHealth business models from around the globe”.   This summit is known to be the biggest one of its kind in the world and it promises to offer some great ideas on using wireless technology to improve health outcomes.

The conference is separated into different  modules.  There are some great Keynote speakers, including Kathleen Sebelius, Secretary, HHS, Dr. Regina Benjamin, US Surgeon General, Julius Genachowski, Chairman, FCC, among other notables.  There are cross-sectoral super sessions (The Value Propostion for mHealth, Mobile Health in the Clinical Enterprise, The New Wireless Paradigm in the Medical Device Industry, and Global Policy and Regulatory Perspectives of mHealth), and 14 concurrent lecture tracks talking about Technology, Research, Business, Policy, and Finance.

Besides these talks, there are morning discussions, receptions, special sessions and a Mobile Health Venture Fair and Funding Networking Reception on Tuesday presented by HIMSS.

Hundreds of organizations are participating in this conference and there is a long list of exhibitors.  There are also several special Pavillions on the exhibit floor including HIMSS, NIH, Qualcomm Wireless and a Start Up Pavillion.

The mHealth Summit has also launched a mobile app that shows the full agenda and will issue news updates throughout the conference.  All you have to do is scan the QR code or click here to stay updated.

Another helpful source of information is the Digital Media Pavillion and Multimedia Library which will serve as the hub of online conversation about the Summit and will share Summit news beyond the conference door.

This promises to be a very worthwhile and interesting convention.  I look forward to learning about the new technology and ideas taking place in the mHealth world.
