Medical Marijuana Is Now Legal In Connecticut–17th State to Legalize

The law is a little different than in most states as pharmacists will be providing it, that is after they have been certified.  There’s a limit on that as well to having at least 3 but no more than 10 certified in the state so nobody will be growing their own.

Patients will need to register and doctors will need to certify the medical need for the medical marijuana which is pretty much uniform in all states where it is legal.  We have pot cards in California for example.  I wonder how long before the feds kick in here and stop the crazy battle that still exists over whether or not it is legal.  Maybe we need a few more states to join in?  BD

On Friday, Connecticut became the 17th state in America to legalize the use of marijuana for medical purposes. Governor Dannel Malloy signed the groundbreaking legislation that will allow licensed physicians to certify and prescribe medical marijuana for adult patients will qualifying medical conditions.

“For years, we’ve heard from so many patients with chronic diseases who undergo treatments like chemotherapy or radiation and are denied the palliative benefits that medical marijuana would provide,” Governor Malloy said.

”With careful regulation and safeguards, this law will allow a doctor and a patient to decide what is in that patient’s best interest,” he said.
