In the past few years, we’ve seen many examples of how mobile devices have changed healthcare. From helping stop smoking to text-message appointment reminders, healthcare has greatly improved with the help of handheld devices. Now,Masimo’s iSpO2  gives you an accurate reading of your pulse right from your iPhone. Masimo’s iSpO2

Introduced at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES), this device is so simple to use that it will make anyone feel like a doctor. Simply plug the reader into any iPhone, iPod or iPad that has a 30-pin port (it won’t work with the iPhone 5 or latest edition iPads), connect the reader to the tip of your ring finger, and the device and its software do the rest.

The fingertip reader shines LED lights through your fingertips. Sensors on the other side read a variety of light wavelengths to come up with your health stats. In just seconds, you get a live, graphic readout of your pulse rate, perfusion index and blood oxygenation. The app will keep track of all your readings, offering up graphs depicting your trends over time. You can even export the data in a CSV file.
