There are plenty of exercise and fitness apps these days – from apps that tell you calorie counts to tutorials on different yoga exercises. They’re all great concepts, but like joining a gym and never going, these apps can be quickly overlooked on your phone if there’s no motivation to use them.

There are plenty of exercise and fitness apps these days – from apps that tell you calorie counts to tutorials on different yoga exercises. They’re all great concepts, but like joining a gym and never going, these apps can be quickly overlooked on your phone if there’s no motivation to use them.

fitness appAn app called Fitocracy takes fitness and turns it into a game that can be accessed right from a smart phone. But unlike popular games like Candy Crush and Angry Birds, Fitocracy’s mission is to make fitness more fun and more of an addictive experience. It pushes people to that next level.

Similar to the check-in app, Foursquare, the app grants users points for each workout activity and then awards the user with badges and props for every milestone. There’s also a social component to Fitocracy. It gives users the option to sign up for challenges with friends or join community chat groups with other members across the network.
