  • That number includes more than 2,400 people in Maryland.
  • On average, 18 people on the national waiting list die every day due to the lack of available organs.
  • In 2012, there were nine organ donors at Sinai and one organ donor at Northwest: This saved the lives of 28 people.
  • In 2012, there were also nine tissue donors at Sinai and 13 tissue donors at Northwest.
  • Just one tissue donor can help up to 50 people, while one organ donor can save up to eight people.
