Your penile health is a priority because you need it to have normal urinary and reproductive functions. Although most men take care of their penile health, some men experience numerous penile problems, such as pearly penile papules (PPPs), priapism, paraphimosis, erectile dysfunction, penile cancer, penis trauma, or sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Some related symptoms include sores, abnormal discharges, discoloration of your penis, irritation, and the inability to have sexual intercourse.

A healthy penis has a color similar to the skin around your genital area, and you should be able to sustain an erection during sex and urinate without experiencing any pain. Anything short of this may point to one or more penile health conditions. Thus, to help improve your penile health, it’d help if you knew about typical healthcare advancements you can use to treat some of the mentioned penis issues. Read below for details:

1.     PPP Kits

Pearly penile papules, or PPPs, are whitish or yellowish growths that form on the head of your penis. They don’t cause significant health problems per se, though having them can significantly lower your self-esteem and drive to have sex. Since they present themselves at the tip of your penis, it’s not simple for your partner to believe it’s non-contagious. If you have such fears, you can remove them to regain your confidence.

In this case, you can look into new advanced at-home treatment methods you can integrate to help with your PPPs, such as a PPP kit. It uses an electrical Ionizer to evaporate the pimples, similar to how laser therapy works. It usually has everything you need to remove PPP harmlessly and pain-free at home.

If you’d like to find out what it looks like, check this related site to know what you expect when you order a kit. You can use such modern equipment to help you get rid of your PPP and regain confidence, especially during intimacy with your partner.

2.     Penile Implant

It’s also known as a penile prosthesis and is positioned into the erectile cylinders of the penis. Its primary use is to enable you to sustain an erection, especially when suffering from erectile dysfunction. A penile implant is also beneficial when you have organic or psychogenic problems causing erectile dysfunction. Psychogenic problems include psychological thoughts, which can affect sexual performance.

On the other hand, organic reasons include impotence, diabetes, or paraplegia. Using modern tools such as penile implants can enable you to sustain an erection.

3.     HPVs And Hepatitis B Vaccines

Scientists have developed Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) and hepatitis B vaccines. They’re the most recent advancement in the management of STIs. Notably, the HPV vaccine was integrated into the immunization schedule and has been proven safe and effective in preventing warts and particular cancers brought about by HPV. It’s advisable to get the vaccination before getting into an active sexual life. More research and trials are being conducted to find ways to completely manage and eliminate STIs.

4.     External Penile Support Devices

You can wear a penile support device externally without the need for surgery. It’s positioned around your penis to allow you to penetrate the vagina with ease during intercourse. The devices differ depending on your penis length. A typical one contains two cylindrical rings attached to and connected to a rigid rod. The penis is extended and positioned within the rings, and the rod lies on the undersurface of the penis. It is a short-term solution to boost erectile firmness for smooth penetration, but it doesn’t solve the primary causes of erectile dysfunction.

5.     Targeted Therapies

Penile cancer is a rare penis problem. The lack of early diagnosis and fear of men seeking treatment make it challenging for the disease to be diagnosed and treated early. However, there have been significant improvements in managing it. Since chemotherapy causes numerous side effects and sometimes may not work, doctors are increasingly recommending alternative penile cancer treatment methods, such as targeted therapy and immunotherapy. However, studies are still underway, and they show optimistic results.

6.     Shock Wave Therapy

It’s a method used by urologists to press kidney stones. However, studies carried out indicate that shock wave therapy can also treat erectile dysfunction disorders. Low-intensity shocks on the penis promote the growth of new blood vessels and enhance blood flow. Research carried out on various patients indicated the men under study were able to have firm and long-lasting erections.

7.     Penile Traction Therapy (PTT)

Numerous sexual dysfunctions, including orgasmic dysfunction, erectile dysfunction, ejaculatory dysfunction, reduced penile length, and penile curvature (Peyronie’s disease) are brought on by surgery to cure prostate cancer. Loss of penile length is one of the dysfunctions that frequently causes patients emotional distress. Beyond aesthetic issues, a shorter penile may make it difficult to engage in sexual activity, making it more challenging to undergo future treatments to improve erectile performance and decrease urinary hygiene.

Fortunately, a PTT can help improve the penile length and maintain function after the surgery. After prostate surgery, penile traction therapy increases penile length and erectile function. For the first three months, men will use penile traction therapy for 30 minutes, three times per day. They will enter an open-label period for three months once this one is through, during which they can use the gadget as much or as little as they like.

Conclusion

There are tested and proven healthcare advancements for maintaining a healthy and functional penis. Some are still under study and have shown promising results so far. So, if you’re undergoing any penile problems, check for new treatments to get rid of them. Coupling them with your current medication will enable you to reproduce and have sexual intercourse without significant challenges.
