In late November of last year, GE announced that its Centricity Radiology Mobile Access app has received FDA 510(k) clearance. The app enables radiologists to use their iPhones and iPads to remotely access, review and diagnose patient CT and MR images from the hospital’s Centricity PACS within moments of the scans being taken, reducing test result wait times. Radiologists can quickly find relevant images and reports through the AccessNOW app, which provides the ability to search Centricity PACS by:

  • Patient Name
  • Patient ID
  • Accession Number
  • Modality
  • Date Range

Once the image is displayed on the mobile device, AccessNOW provides 2D, 3D, and MIP/MPR capabilities. It allows the user to scroll, set W/L, zoom, and pan. The AccessNOW app is native to the Apple iOS and the Android platform, which means there are no emulator or browser limitations to its performance and a “zero footprint” for deployment.

In this interview podcast, HIT Consultant speaks with Lawrence White, Radiology Senior Marketing Manager from GE Healthcare to learn more about their Centricity Radiology Mobile Access app.

Key highlights include:

  • Overview of Centricity Radiology Mobile Access app
  •  Service Side Rendering,
  • Security & Mobile Device Management
