Launched over 11 years ago, LinkedIn is still one of the top social networking websites out there today, with over 277 million users in over 200 countries and territories worldwide.

Linkedin and HealthcareUnlike other social networks such as Facebook and Instagram that can provide users with information to potential patients and other consumers of daily occurrences going on at healthcare facilities, LinkedIn can be used as a valuable tool in other ways, including:

  • Recruitment: Every healthcare facility is looking for great talent to treat their patients. Today, 94 percent of recruiters use LinkedIn to vet candidates. That means LinkedIn can be the ideal way for your hospital’s human resources department to find your next great doctor or nurse.
  • Showcase pages: Showcase pages have a lot of potential. For example, a hospital can create a page for each specialty it offers. A cancer research program can have a page and so can the pediatrics department. This allows users to follow departments they’re interested in. If you have one or more products, services or brands that need to be marketed and presented separate from your overall company.
  • A publishing platform: Just recently LinkedIn has opened up its publishing feature to all its members. This gives members the ability to follow other members who are not in their network and build their own group of followers. For a hospital this is a huge development because it allows physicians to have a space to create and share insights and content that previously had nowhere to live.

LinkedIn can provide a lot of new opportunities for exposure. For a detailed strategy on how your hospital can make the most of a LinkedIn account, contact Wax Custom Communications at 305-350-5700 or visit waxcom.com
