What are the human implications of the health data boom?  What do consumers (both ordinary Americans and ePatients) think about the privacy and security issues associated with big health data?

This is the subject of the first episode of a new video blog series I launched this month called Digital Health Illustrated. It is designed to feature thinking, original research and more about how digital technologies are influencing health globally.

The first episode of Digital Health Illustrated is divided into two parts.  Part 1, which appears below, focuses on the human side of the health data boom. Also, please watch Part 2, which focuses on some of the cons of health data collection and what consumers and digitally savvy health consumers think about it.
