As always, I want to thank  all our bloggers for all the great posts.  I love reading them and publishing them for others to read and enjoy.  I do appreciate all of your efforts and contributions.

As you may know, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  We will feature posts on breast cancer this month, and posts on cancer awareness, cancer therapy and treatment, and cancer advances and research during the rest of the year.  We have just published Stephen Schimpff’s very comprehensive and interesting post on Mesothelioma.  This post triggered an email from Mike Postorino of the Mesothelioma Center who then sent me a subsequent post on Breast Cancer and Mesothelioma which I just published. We also plan on hosting a webinar on The Changing Role of the Breast Cancer Patient, later this month.

We celebrate all efforts to combat cancer and will welcome any thoughts, posts, comments, events, etc that will raise awareness of this disease.  On that note, we want to hightlight one of our bloggers, Andrew Schorr, and his endeavor, Patient Power, that is doing great work empowering and connecting patients everywhere.

HealthWorksCollective is a global community.  Several International bloggers have joined us and I want to give them a very hearty welcome!

Colleen Young has joined us  recently from Canada.  John Worth and Ben Wagenaar  have just joined us from the UK.  Aniruddha Malpani and Nrip Nihalani (with Aditya Pathar and Vinnie Venugopal) have joined us from India and both have had several posts published on the site already.  I would like to mention that both Aniruddha and Nrip have posts that include the idea of “Information Therapy”.  I like this idea.  It treats information as a prescribed treatment, crucial to patient and doctor well-being.

I ask you to welcome our new bloggers and to look to them for new ideas and new perspectives.  I think that moving towards a more global arena can only benefit all of us.

And please, I welcome all bloggers!  Please either post directly on the site or email me and I will be glad to post for you.  Our community is growing nicely and I am very proud of the quality of the blogs and the integrity of the bloggers.

And also, a great thanks to all our readers!  Thank you for taking the time to visit our site!  And please, post comments on any of the articles on the site. If you have a general comment, question, or suggestion, you can email me directly at joan@socialmediatoday.com

Thank you!
