mhealth appsReputable brick-and-mortar weight-loss companies that have been around for decades are reporting drops in walk-in traffic. But mobile apps that help you keep track of your fitness and dieting activities are booming. Even Weight Watchers has joined the “mobile bandwagon” with a slew of apps dedicated to health and better eating!

It’s all about convenience. People are on their phones for a bunch of other activities like bill paying and social networking. Why not add dieting to the routine? According to a recent Pew Research Center poll, one fifth of all smartphone users have at least one health-related app on their phone.
