SoCal Entrepreneurial Ecosystems Development (EED) is a newly established non-profit that focuses on early stage company development. EED has just introduced a Wireless Health Hub to help support entrepreneurs developing wireless medical devices.

The Wireless Hub offers an early-stage Seed Accelerator program and a second stage Business Acclerator program. If a start-up doesn’t require the resources of the 90-day Seed Accelerator program, they can apply to enter the Business Accelerator stage program only.

The third stage offers becoming part of a community that  “facilitates a sustainable wireless health ecosystem including connections to existing wireless health companies, real estate providers, local government, educational institutions, funding sources, strategic partners and health care practitioners.”

Jim Butz, President and Founder, SoCal EED explains,

“there are multiple organizations providing individual startup components like accelerators or incubators, however, we believe that these should be combined with other supporting elements that lead to the evolution of a sustainable startup community.”

Applications are being taken now through November 25, 2013.  Ten companies will be selected by December 13, 2013.

Listen to the following interview with Director Charles Zahl for more detail:
