Do you want to live a healthier lifestyle? Most people set this as a goal. Unfortunately, not nearly enough people follow through with it.

Meeting Fitness Goals Can Be a ChallengeYour Fitness Goals Are Achievable

Last year, Bodybuilding.com published the findings of a study that showed 73% of people that set New Year’s fitness goals give up on them. If you are struggling to meet your own fitness goals, then you may need to change things up a bit.

Meeting Fitness Goals Can Be a Challenge

One of the most difficult goals to reach in life is a personal fitness goal. One day, you may have all the motivation and drive in the world. Unfortunately, it might not last. The very next day, you may just look at yourself and wonder if you have been wasting your time trying to get in better shape.

If you don’t believe me, you can ask anyone who’s ever tried to lose some pounds at home or anyone who’s ever tried to build some muscles in the gym.

And they’ll tell you a hard truth about setting fitness and exercise goals:

Personal fitness goals are hard to reach

But they are not impossible to reach! There are plenty of people who set personal fitness goals and accomplish them. You may use technology to make it easier to achieve your goals, but there are plenty of other things that you can do as well.

In case you’re wondering how they did it, keep on reading to find out.

Set realistic goals

Whether or not you’ll reach a personal fitness goal is dependent on what the goals you set in the first place are.

Setting unrealistic goals is the bedrock for personal fitness failures. So, before you proceed with any personal fitness procedure, be sure to have an attainable goal in mind.

You know your body better than anyone, and you know what your endurance/tolerance levels are. If you set unrealistic goals – because of what you see on TV or what your friends are doing – you’ll quickly become frustrated.

To make sure this never happens, you need to set your sight on goals you know you can achieve.

Find a strong purpose for your goals

If you want to lose weight, do it because you want to impress your spouse.

If you want to build muscles, do it because you want to challenge your buddies.

By and large, if you want to reach a personal fitness goal, find a pretty strong reason for doing it.

You’re more likely to take your personal fitness goals seriously if you’re doing it for a purpose.

Often times, people want to lose weight, build muscles, and tone belly simply to keep up with the Joneses. In the end, they find themselves demotivated and unable to carry on.

However, if you’re doing it for a greater cause, you’re less likely to back out.

It’s okay to have long-term GOALS but make it one goal at a time

One of the reasons why personal fitness goals often seem like a neck-cracking ambition for many is because people sometimes focus on realizing more than one goal at a time.

For example, we can see someone who’s working on losing their belly fat, also striving to hit the six-packs club all at the same time.

It is only a fantasy to say you want to reach multiple fitness goals at once. Fitness is a like journey, and like every journey, you need to go one pace at a time.

If your goal is to one day have sexy abs, but today you still carry some visceral fat. Losing your belly fat should be your short-term goal. And when you’re completely over that, you can start dreaming about building your abs.

Get mentorship, assistance, or a trainer

Depending on how far you’re willing to take your personal fitness journey, you can hire a personal trainer on Origym to guide you professionally, or you can use Gym Near Me to hire a one-on-one personal trainer near you if you live in Australia, seek fitness advice from various online sources, or find someone to look up to – a mentor.

The reason for this is so that you can have a focal point for advice, guide, help, and motivation.

For example, if you have a mentor you’re always keeping tabs on, it will be hard for you to lose sight of your own long-term goals. As long as you keep seeing this person, you’ll want to keep striving to reach their level or at least get close.

Find a way to measure your status

The next step now is to find a way to measure results regularly.

Think about it; how can you possibly be on the right track if you have no way of measuring how you’re faring?

For people looking to lose or add weight, measuring results is as simple as jumping on a scale regularly. For those looking to build muscles, you can adopt the “forearm and tape measure” approach to measure gains.

By regularly measuring results, you’ll see how you’re progressing. And if you aren’t progressing at the right rate, you can make some necessary adjustments.

Design a plan and stick with it

Consistency is always a great challenge for fitness geeks. Often times, we see people recording “gains” in one week, and in another week, they record “losses.”

To make sure this doesn’t happen to you, you should create an action plan to guide you every step of the way.

For example, you can put in place a workout routine and a dietary plan that allows you to gain 1-2 pounds of muscles per week.

Your Fitness Goals Are Achievable

You don’t need to get discouraged with your fitness goals. There are plenty of things that you can do to make them easier to achieve. The tips listed above should help you reach them!
